Welcome to the world of 3D printing! For this class we will begin learning the basics of 3D CAD design using the CAD class curriculum. We will begin in Tinkercad for the Fall semester and continue into Fusion in the Spring. Please make sure to get your copy of the student workbook from CAD class here You can download a PDF on their site for a small donation or you can order a physical copy on Amazon, which should be covered by charter funding.
Additionally, each student will need to have a 3D printer at home that they can use to practice printing. I recommend either of the printers found on the links below as great introductory printers that have a lot of great features. I own both of these printers and they are great out of the box. Additionally, since I own both of them, I can assist with maintenance or repairs.
If you want to go with a multi-color printer, the Flash Forge AD5X is new on the market as one of the most budget-friendly multi-color options (I am buying one this year), but its price point may not be covered by charter funding.
